Faye Gordon For Judge - 149th Judicial District Court Print E-mail
Faye Gordon was born October 26, 1952, in Natchitoches, Louisiana.  She attended St. Anthony’s Catholic school and graduated from Natchitoches High School in 1970. Faye attributes her work ethic to the fact that when she was nine (9) years old she worked as the bookkeeper for her grandfather’s business.
She continued this job until she left home to begin college.

 

Faye completed student-teaching in Penfield, New York and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Jarvis Christian College in 1974.

Faye Gordon has been a resident of Brazoria County since 1977, and was a teacher with the Brazosport Independent School District from 1978 thru 1985.

In 1982, she earned a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Texas Southern University, and a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 1988. Faye was Comment’s Editor for Law Review and Secretary for the class of 1988.  While in Law School, Faye interned with the Brazoria County District Attorney’s office and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.

Faye has been practicing law in Brazoria County since 1989. Her areas of practice are: Family, Criminal, Probate, Juvenile and Personal Injury.  She is a member of the Family Law, Criminal Law and Juvenile Law Sections of the State Bar. She has also been a member of the State Bar College of Texas.

Faye served as President of the Brazoria County Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Association (1995); the Brazoria County Women’s Bar ( 1996);  Board of Directors for Texas Criminal Defense Association;  Chair, State Bar of Texas Area 5-C Grievance Committee (2005-2006)

She is licensed by the State of Texas and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.

Faye believes in community and has committed to service on board of directors for: The Greater Angleton Chamber of Commerce; Brazoria County Women’s Center; Brazoria County Food Pantry; United Way of Brazoria County; Brazoria County Head Start; Boys and Girls Club of Brazoria County, and Campus Advisory –Frontier Elementary School.

Currently, Faye serves as Chair, Board of Directors Brazoria County Child Development Council (Head Start) and member Board of Directors Southwest SIDS Research Institute of Brazoria County.

Faye has been the featured speaker for numerous church and civic events.  She has volunteered to participate in training programs designed to educate individuals concerning legal issues and consequences involved in the process of fostering or adopting children.

Faye has been married 33 years to Terry D. Gordon, an employee of Dow Chemical and community civic leader. They have two children, Teri Jamila Gordon, a teacher in Washington D.C. and Sadiki Jason Gordon, a graduate of Baylor University.

Faye is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. a National as well as International Public Service Organization.

Faye is an active member of First Missionary Baptist Church, Angleton, Texas.
