Linked to the Gulf of Mexico, the Old Brazos River flows through the center of the City, ending at the beautiful municipal park. Brazosport Memorial Hospital, A state of the art medical facility,  is located in a nearby city, just a few short miles. Medical professionals are available to fill any need. Freeport is home of a new medical clinic (Brazosport Medical Center) offering a variety of services to any person requiring medical attention.

We are proud of our outstanding/award winning school district (Brazosport Independent School District). Governor George W. Bush recognized Brazosport High School (located in Freeport) for their outstanding scholastic achievements by personally attending graduation ceremonies and handing out diplomas in May 1999.  Our visitors and residents may attend the Brazosport College to broaden their knowledge or visit the Center for the Arts to broaden their horizons.  Freeport has a wide variety of housing to accommodate families with varied income levels.
