On the last day of creation, God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness”  (Genesis 1:26). Thus, He finished His work with a “personal touch.” God formed man from the dust and gave him life by sharing His own breath (Genesis 2:7). Accordingly, man is unique among all God’s creations, having both a material body and an immaterial soul/spirit.

It is our civic duty to vote, but is it our Christian duty? Some Christians seem to believe that the political world is so corrupt that it is better to avoid it altogether. While it is easy to appreciate this "other-worldly" sentiment, it is hard to justify from a biblical perspective.

Concerned that a corrupt politician would win a local election, church members gathered for an all-night prayer vigil. In the morning, however, they refused to vote and the good candidate lost--by fewer than the number of votes represented by those at the prayer meeting.

Answer:  Beyond any shadow of a doubt, it is the duty and responsibility of every Christian to vote, and vote for leaders who promote Christian principles. God is most certainly in control, but that does not mean we should do nothing to further His will. We are commanded to pray for our leaders in 1st Timothy 2:1-4. This passage also describes God’s desire that all men would be saved.
